Italian Symphony

The itinerary, together with the centenary celebrations of Verdi's birth, features quintessential centres of musical excellence, including Milan's "La Scala, and the famous settings and inspirations of Verdi, such as Parma, Busseto, Mantua. Artistic and historical delights such as Ferrara and Ravenna are also included.

DAY 1 SATURDAY
Arrival in Milan and at Hotel. Welcome Dinner.

DAY 2 SUNDAY
Following breakfast, morning sightseeing tour including La Scala Opera House and museum and Milan's Duomo. Freetime for lunch. Afternoon visit of Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece, recently restored, "The Last Supper". Transfer to Parma or outskirts. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

DAY 3 MONDAY
Morning visit to production centre of Parma ham and Parmesan cheese. Lunch in typical local wine cellar. Afternoon, private Verdi concerto by Parma Conservatory of Music. Dinner of typical local specialities. Overnight in hotel.

DAY 4 TUESDAY
Morning visit of historic centre of Parma. Freetime for lunch. Afternoon visit to Roncole Verdi, birthplace of Verdi, to visit his house and museum. Proceed to Busseto to visit Verdi Theatre and Villa Pallavicino. Return to Parma for dinner and overnight in hotel.

DAY 5 WEDNESDAY
Morning visit of “Ferrari Gallery” in Maranello. Proceed to Ferrara. Freetime for lunch. Afternoon visit of historic centre of Ferrara. Dinner plus overnight in hotel.

DAY 6 THURSDAY
Morning visit to Ravenna (San Vitale, Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, San Apollinare, Mausoleum of Theodoric). Freetime for lunch. Proceed to Faenza to see local artisan products. Return to Ferrara. Dinner plus overnight in hotel.

DAY 7 FRIDAY
Morning visit of Mantua, a north Italian artistic centre, birthplace of Mantegna. Visit to sights featured in Verdi's Rigoletto (Ducal Palace). Freetime for lunch. Proceed to Cremona, city of Stradivari, with visit to Palazzo Communal with its' Stradivari room, the Cathedral. Farewell Dinner and overnight in hotel.

DAY 8 SATURDAY
After breakfast departure transfer for airport.
